Now, I already had dinner twice…  I ate at my coworkers house, and then came home with McDonalds for Tomis (of course I had some as well).   Having eaten twice already in no way means I am above eating dinner one more time.  Our stupid cat decided to pee in our closet.  The furry rodent relieved herself on a pillow right next to my skirt and two pairs of business pants… right under all my business jackets.  I could have kicked her across a football field.  I spent an entire day at work wondering why I smelled of piss, haha.  It is funny now, but believe me, sniffing myself all day long and wondering why I smelled so bad was not fun.  

I think it is only fair that I cook her for dinner…

All the usual suspects were around on Thanksgiving… the turkey, the cacophony of side dishes, the pie, the family, and the troop of hungry animals eager to catch any morsel of food dropped off the table. Last Thanksgiving, we had an unexpected guest… the fart heard ’round the world. Tomis was rinsing off some dishes and I was poking him from behind (being rather obnoxious). He warned me that if I didn’t stop, he would find a way to make me regret playing with him. Boy did he. He let loose something from his colon that NASA couldn’t concoct. There are WWII fighter jets that would sound like a hiccup in comparison. Never, have I EVER in my years surrounded by boys in high school or college heard anything half as impressive as what my husband let out of his bum. So loud was this sound that my dad and my grandmother (poor, dear sweet Grandma Betty) heard it from the next room over the sound of the television.

It was a Thanksgiving I won’t soon forget. Thanksgiving is once again just around the corner. Let us see what memories we shall create this year

Before Tomis walked in the door tonight, he ran into our neighbor Jim. Every night Jim walks his two dogs past our apartment, and every night he sees me in the kitchen cooking Tomis dinner Granted, there are plenty of nights where my “cooking” is reheating leftovers or grabbing water to go with our Papa Johns or McDonalds BUT, it is nice to know the feeling that our apartment gives off. From the outside, it looks like a home where a wife is in the kitchen making a hearty meal to fill the stomach of her hard-working husband. Some may say it sounds a little anti-feminist, but when I think of it I smell the smells of homecooked meals and feel the warmth of an appreciative hug from a husband who has had a long day.

I had this weekend off, so Tomis got lucky in the dinner department. Last night we had my special chocolate strawberry banana layered pancakes with hot chocolate. TONIGHT, we had shrimp in a creamy garlic cajun sauce, tomato soup, salad, garlic bread, and pasta The only thing that I can really take credit for is the shrimp and garlic bread though. The soup came from Fred Meyers (and is WONDERFUL), and the pasta sauce was Paesana brand (which needs no alteration whatsoever). Our hunger took precedence over any artistry in our photo taking tonight, so the pics are nothing to rave about… but you get the idea

I don’t know why people lose their minds on this day, but they truly do. Tomis and I both had loads of stories to tell each other today… none of them good. It as if people stockpile their bad attitudes and then collectively decide to release them all at once. It is only those who have service jobs that truly feel the brunt of a day such as today… and Tomis and I both did.

I would like to impart a courtesy reminder to the masses (since only good people read our blog I am truly preaching to the choir here haha)… If someone is helping you, be nice. If someone is trying… have patience. If you are being done a service… be kind. That’s all. Don’t judge based on a perception of what should be; rather, just be grateful for what you have because it could always be worse. When it seems like it can’t get any harder, then try to make someone else’s day better… I promise, your days will feel sunnier.

Tomis and I got into a little argument about who is messier between the two of us. Since he isn’t here to defend himself, I will tell you that HE is most definitely the messier one in our marriage. He leaves crap EVERYWHERE. As I was trying to prove that point I mentioned how he leaves his shoes lying haphazardly all around the house and I am constantly putting them away… and then we both looked towards the door and saw this…

Yes… those are all my shoes. Not one is Tomis’s. What sick and twisted irony….

Goodnight from the messy married couple

Tomis signed up for Facebook the other day. He seemed to be having fun finding friends in cyberland, so I decided “what the heck, I’ll sign up too!” I am slowly but surely figuring out all the ins and outs of this crazy social networking site, but I feel a little old for it, haha. I am very curious about what this “poke” function is though…

Other than that I met some of my coworkers family members today. We met at El Pollo Loco and had a quick lunch before heading home to enjoy the rest of Veterans Day.

Tomis and I just had an interesting conversation about Denzel Washington. We have agreed that he is the only man in the world that no one can ever be faulted for coveting. In fact… if men covet him, they can’t be blamed either haha. Random, we know

I have been working in my branch for the past few weeks already. It has been a bit of a challenge as the class meant to teach me the systems I would be using wasn’t until this past Thursday I was able to hammer my way through most customer problems, however I am sure it wasn’t often that I picked the shortest path to get to the solutions (the class I attended today, yesterday, and then again this coming Monday made that point CRYSTAL clear).

I was ABOUT to start talking about my awesome coworker, Cat, who had been guiding me around work so I could at least feel a little productive, and then my phone rang… it was Cat! Apparently my bank got robbed today… again. This is the second time in a month that we have been robbed. Both times I have been in Vancouver, so no one need worry if I am okay. No one got hurt, and from when Cat told me, everyone is doing fine. The first robber was caught, and the second robber has been thoroughly described and may already be apprehended.

Well… I think this post may have peaked Until tomorrow!!

Tomis and I found a way to peacefully coexist whilst he watches his soccer.  You see, we had a problem in the past where I would like to chat during the game   He would comment on the game, and I would comment… and keep commenting   ANYHOO, we found a way to keep Tomis from slapping the yabber out of me… “the quiet cap”.   Anytime there is a moment in the game that requires Tomis’s concentration, he puts the “quiet cap” on my head, and I know not to talk   Until he takes that cap off my head I am not allowed to speak.  It has worked pretty well so far.   Methinks I may be mute during the world cup though…

What Tomis doesn’t know is that the quiet cap works on him as well.  Once a month, for a week, I guarantee you that cap will not come off his head

Where did all the kids go??!! I bought a TON of candy and was worried that I wouldn’t have enough for all the treat-or-treaters, but our doorbell only rang once. I was shocked! When I was a kid Halloween was a really big deal. I remember huge groups of kids running amuck on the streets (yes, I was one of them). I remember planning my costume a few weeks in advance and gathering my posse for a night full of debauchery. I remember using pillowcases for people to drop candy in so that I could collect as MUCH candy as possible. I would run from door to door as fast as I could so I could later dump my candy on the floor of my living room with my friends. We would divide our candy into piles of “like” and “don’t like” and then trade. Halloween was always a blast. I didn’t see that this year. At least not at my door.

Tomis and I had a great night though. We built a big fire, ate pasta, and drank wine. We stayed up late and watched television and then fell asleep. It was wonderful Now, we just have to figure out what to do with 4 bags of candy that never got collected by the neighborhood kids, haha. Looks like my but will be getting bigger

We have tried to post the blog 5 minutes ago but for some reson we lost everything we wrote. So now i will be the author as Hanako is watching tv. Well all what i hear from my wife is that she really likes her job, she always learn something new and what is more important she is happy. In this economic crapola it is amazing to have job, but if you are lucky to have job and you love it at the same time you are very, very lucky person.

As for my job, coming every morning to beautiful vineyard, surounded by amazing nature and most of all working with very nice people makes my life and job very enjoyable and just like my wife i learn every day something new and i love it.
